Golf-Day-III

The Lord’s Taverners Wales has raised in excess of £2,000 at its annual Ian Spratling Memorial Golf Day at Royal Porthcawl Golf Club.

The golf day returned after a year’s hiatus and saw 22 teams from across south Wales compete in a friendly round of 18 holes, with Expedite crowned the overall winners. The fundraiser concluded with a meal, presentation and charity update from Chairman of the Lord’s Taverners Wales, Andrew Gibson.

Mr Gibson, said: “It was fantastic to welcome guests back to the Ian Spratling Memorial Golf Day. The day itself has always been a highlight on our calendar, raising lots of much needed funds, and a way to get together and thank our loyal supporters. This year was no exception, and a great day was had by all.

“Congratulations to Expedite and their Team Captain Ian Carter for securing the Ian Spratling Trophy and thank you to everyone who came along on the day to show their support and help us reach our incredible fundraising total. All proceeds will go towards supporting disadvantaged youngsters across the region.”

Since its inception, The Lord’s Taverners Wales has raised over £1million, and nationally, the charity annually raises in excess of £3million. The charity runs community cricket programme Wicketz, and regularly donates specially adapted minibuses, sports wheelchairs, sensory and play equipment facilities to the community and recycles sports kits across the globe.
