ThirdSpace rebrands as Kocho; boosts commitment to Wales
Cardiff-based ID and cybersecurity management specialist completes integration with TiG Data Intelligence and unveils plans to grow Welsh operations
Cardiff-based ThirdSpace, the identity (ID) management and security specialist, today announced it has rebranded as Kocho, signalling a new era and strategy for the company. Originally Oxford Computer Group, which was founded in 2002, ThirdSpace rebranded in 2018 before being acquired by TiG Data Intelligence, the London-headquartered provider of cloud transformation and managed IT services, in 2021.
The two companies have integrated to become Kocho – the Japanese word for butterfly and a symbol of transformation. Kocho will focus on helping UK organisations tackle two often conflicting challenges; how to use technology to transform their business models, while ensuring their operations are defended against hackers and cyberattacks.
The company expects to more than double its annual revenues of £33 million through a combination of organic growth and acquisition within the next five years and has plans to significantly grow its headcount, including at its new Cardiff-based cyber security operations centre which provides security services for clients across several different industries, including in the financial, health, manufacturing and professional services sectors. The new Cardiff facility will open later in the Spring of 2022 and Kocho will look to grow the headcount in South Wales to 50 people over the next three years.
“I’m delighted to be able to advance our commitment to the Welsh market as a direct result of the new Kocho brand,” said Neil Coughlan, Chief Strategy Officer of Kocho, formerly co-founder and CEO of ThirdSpace. “The company has deep roots in Wales, and the integration with TiG has boosted our growth and investment opportunities here. We aim to make Cardiff a centre of excellence for cybersecurity, building on our already strong relationship with the University of South Wales, which produces some of the very best graduates in cyber.”
