Staff and pupils at a Swansea primary school have received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon fulfilment centre in the city.

Townhill Community School creates an environment where pupils feel safe, valued and excited to attend. The school’s vision is ‘Putting Children First’, aiming to provide a curriculum and space where the interests and needs of each individual pupil are nurtured.

The school encourages high standards of academia and behaviour as well as supporting the pupils’ social and emotional development.

The donation from Amazon Swansea will go towards purchasing a new climbing frame for the playground to give the pupils a stimulating and fun environment to keep active, fit and healthy.

Christopher Law, General Manager at Amazon in Swansea, said:

“We’re keen to support the education of young people in our community and we’re pleased to contribute to Townhill Community School’s great work through this donation.”

Richard Langstone, an Associate at Amazon in Swansea who nominated the charity for this donation, added:

“Townhill Community School plays an important role in our community, educating and supporting children. I’m so happy that Amazon has made this donation.”

Peter Owen, Headteacher at Townhill Community School, added:

“We are pleased to receive this donation and on behalf of our pupils and staff, I would like to thank Christopher and the team at Amazon in Swansea. This donation will enable us to continue providing a safe and stimulating learning environment for the children.”

The donation to Townhill Community School was made as part of Amazon’s programme to support the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
