Update on temporary delays to recycling and waste collections

Bridgend County Borough Council and Kier have confirmed that some additional changes to waste and recycling collections will be necessary next week.

The changes are required as 14 members of staff have now been advised to self-isolate following potential exposure to a positive case of coronavirus.

As a result, crews and resources have been re-organised to ensure that collection rounds can still be completed.

Communal rounds for refuse and recycling that have not yet been collected this week will be completed by Saturday 26 June.

On Monday 28 June, there will be a slight delay to collections from communal recycling points in Heol y Cyw, Pencoed and Bridgend, but all rounds are expected to be complete by the end of Wednesday 30 June.

Any refuse not collected by 5pm on Monday 28 June in Garth, Caerau, Nantyffyllon and Maesteg will be collected instead on Saturday 3 July – please note that recycling in these areas will be collected as normal.

The council and Kier are keeping the situation under regular review, and every effort is being made to keep inconvenience to an absolute minimum.
