UWTSD Professional Practice graduate makes remarkable career advancement as Head of Primary Care Transformation at Hywel Dda
The Professional Practice department at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) is delighted to note and congratulate Sarah Bolton on her promotion to Hywel Dda’s Senior Management Team.
Sarah’s had a remarkable learning journey from leaving school with minimal qualifications to earning a master’s degree and now leading a department and it is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and the transformative power of education within UWTSD.
Sarah’s journey began with an admin job at a local authority, and through continuous effort and a commitment to learning, she progressed through various roles, accumulating accredited qualifications to enhance her academic knowledge. Facing the barrier of not having a degree or master’s qualification to advance further in her career, Sarah embarked on the MA Professional Practice programme at UWTSD.
Her work-based learning project, titled ‘An Evaluation of a Regional Partnership Boards’ Approach to Continuous Engagement in West Wales,’ not only demonstrated her academic expertise but also created a substantial impact across the county. The project’s findings have contributed valuable insights to regional partnership strategies and have been recognized for their significance in enhancing continuous engagement practices.
Sarah said:
“I was thrilled to graduate in July 2023, and this qualification has already paid off as I have now secured a new job, which requires a master’s qualification as Senior Manager focusing on Transformation in Hywel Dda. Without a doubt, I wouldn’t have been able to succeed without this qualification.”
Despite facing challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic, Sarah persevered with the support of the University, her line manager, and fellow students. The flexible approach of UWTSD allowed her to navigate these challenges, make timely submissions, and stay connected through online resources and support networks.
Lowri Harris, Senior Lecturer at the Professional Practice Department at UWTSD, expressed pride in Sarah’s accomplishment. She said:
“Sarah’s journey is truly inspiring and reflects the University’s commitment to providing accessible and impactful education. We congratulate her on this well-deserved promotion and the positive impact she continues to make in her field.”
The University of Wales Trinity Saint David extends its congratulations to Sarah Bolton and looks forward to witnessing the continued success of its graduates in making a meaningful difference in their respective professions.
