Veezu Makes New Appointment Following Key Growth

Veezu, the UK’s largest taxi and private hire operator has appointed Ryan Owen as Strategy & Implementation Director following strong economic growth.

Ryan Owen remains Managing Director of South Wales based Dragon Taxis as well as taking on this new role at Veezu, which acquired Dragon Taxis in 2015. His new responsibilities will involve helping to create Veezu’s overall development strategy as part of Veezu’s Executive Leadership Team.

Ryan’s impressive career and decade in the taxi industry make him well-suited for the role, as he played a key part in the development of his family’s business, Dragon Taxis.

He has stellar finance insight, having gained his AAT Accounting qualification as well as a wealth of team work and leadership skills taken from his days as a professional rugby player for Leicester Tigers and Bedford Blues, but more recently Newport, Bridgend Ravens and Pontypool.

In 2011, his father Gareth Owen a founder of Dragon Taxis – who has since retired – asked him to become part of Dragon’s succession, following the passing of Gareth’s business partner.

Ryan is now looking forward to playing a pivotal role in Veezu’s organic growth projects, including the most recent acquisition of Cwmbran Cars and Chauffeur Cars, both of which have been merged into the Dragon Taxis brand.

Speaking about his new role, Ryan said:

Since joining Veezu, he has played a key role in a number of projects, including the restructuring and improvement of V Cars in 2018, as well as the purchase and integration of United Radio Cars in 2019.
