If you are looking to gain some valuable volunteering experience and help other people’s well-being, the Edge of Care team in Denbighshire are looking for volunteers to get involved in their project.

Volunteering could be as simple as attending social groups together, grabbing a cup of tea or having a quick phone call. The opportunities may be suited to students who require volunteering experience within mental health, or for those who have some free time and want to support others in their community.

The Edge of Care Team will try to match you with someone who shares similar interests as you, and you can volunteer on days and times that are convenient to you. Training will also be provided to help you feel confident in your new volunteering role.

Cindy Elliott, Team Leader said:

“We have a number of opportunities available for people to gain valuable volunteering experience within mental health or for those who simply want to support others in their community”.

Councillor Elen Heaton, Lead Member for Health and Social Care said:

“Supporting other’s mental health is so important, and simple things like having a quick chat on the phone or meeting for a cup of tea can help significantly.

By getting involved in this fantastic project you can really make a huge difference to the well-being of the members of our local community who may be suffering from social isolation.

Loneliness can have a detrimental impact on our mental and physical health, so it is important that we support each other. If you are looking to gain invaluable experience or have some spare time, please consider getting involved in this project”.
