Welsh artists take back control over their revenue with music fan subscription app

Following the launch of its fan subscription feature in July, music recording and sharing platform Trackd has seen hundreds of new artists sign up to take advantage of the chance to take back control of their earnings from online music.

Some of the artists coming on board include singer songwriter Otto  who recently signed a record deal with Trackd investor Dave Stewart, of the Eurythmics fame and Welsh singer and finalist on The Voice, Bethzienna Williams. Another prominent convert to the platform is break-through Birmingham artist and producer, A Class.

Trackd founder Russell Sheffield commented, “The initial feedback from the launch has been encouraging and although it’s early days, each one of these artists will now be receiving 85% of all the fan subscriptions coming through the platform. With gigs only just getting started again and revenue from streaming platforms being so low, this will be a sustainable way for these young artists to get a fair return for their talent and hard work.”

Trackd will be hosting a night of live music with Hoxton Radio Present on Thursday 30th September 2021. The evening will include performances from three of their featured artists; OTTO, Ocean and TherryiJ. Doors open from 7pm and tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite.
