Cancer Support Charity the Osborne Trust Wins Park Christmas Savings Community Award for Wales

A Rhyl-based charity set up to provide support to children during their parents’ cancer has won the Park Christmas Savings Community Award for Wales.

The Osborne Trust was the brainchild of mum-of-two Emma Osborne who established it as a support charity 10 years ago aged 36, after being diagnosed with cancer and witnessing the lack of support for children living with a parent with cancer.

Each year leading family festive budgeting club – Park Christmas Savings – runs its Park UK Community Awards as part of its annual agents’ awards.

It is a chance for over 22,000 Park Christmas Savings agents to nominate a local charity or cause from their region that’s close to their hearts.

Hundreds of nominations were made for the 2025 awards with just one charity able to win for each UK region; England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Each regional winner receives £250 from Park as a prize. The four regional semi-finalists then go into a Park agents vote announced at the annual awards in Liverpool mid-February, with the charity with the most votes receiving an additional £1,000 from Park Christmas Savings.

Charity CEO Emma Osborne of the Osborn Trust said “We are thrilled to have won the community charity award for Wales. Our charity celebrates its tenth year this year and it is wonderful to kickstart celebrations with this special award.

“The Osborne trust and our mascot Ozzy the elephant has come a long way in 10 years in supporting children with parents living with cancer. Since we supported our first family in January 2015, over 4,100 children have benefited from our services. Thank you Park Christmas Savings for recognising our work and for this generous prize.”

Katherine Scott, director of marketing at Park Christmas Savings added: “Our Park agents’ community awards are our way of paying tribute to the incredible charitable work that is happening in our small, local communities. Often these groups, charities and organisations don’t get the recognition they deserve. This is our way of saying thank you for all you do for others.”
