Welsh company RESOLVEit leads a social media movement to counter loneliness in isolation

The Cardiff-based personal safety organisation RESOLVEit has started the #SafeandSane movement on social media inviting people to share their ways of staying safe and sane at home during the COVID-19 lockdown. The trend took off from the start, racking up contributions from over 50 people in the first few days.

RESOLVEit believes in everyone’s right to feel safe, which was the driving idea behind creating the social media trend.

“As important as it is to stay safe at home right now, protecting one’s mental health should not be forgotten either,” explained Eira Culverwell, the Managing Director of RESOLVEit.

The movement has inspired people in Cardiff to find creative ways to spend their time in lockdown. Participating in the trend has brought people closer together in their daily lives and created a sense of community. Many participants have used the trend to reconnect with friends and loved ones, ‘tagging’ them in the social media challenge too.

The movement can be found by searching for @RESOLVEitcic or following the hashtag #SafeandSane on the social media platform Instagram. RESOLVEit has also started a virtual gallery on their campaign site , which features all the contributions from people participating in the challenge.

RESOLVEit is a community interest company providing personal safety training and workshops to educational establishments, charities, businesses and not-for-profit organisations in Wales. The company was set up in 2014 by Diane Briere De L’Isle, the international lawyer and wife of Admiral’s CEO Henry Engelhardt.
