Wrexham have been making a lot of noise in football circles, with no intention on their part to quieten down any time soon.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have opened up a window to the world, with the Red Dragons taking flight in spectacular style.

History has been made with three successive promotions, allowing the most ambitious of goals to be set.

Not only are Hollywood co-owners looking to bring Premier League football to North Wales, they want to see European competition back on the agenda.

Dreams

The thought of Wrexham figuring in Champions League draws and paying more than a passing interest in the kind markets that see PSG vs Arsenal odds weighted in favour of 1/5 French heavyweights to reach the 2025 final remains slightly preposterous for now.

Few, though, expected Reynolds and McElhenney to oversee a meteoric rise into the Championship.

That is where they now find themselves, with useful bet calculator tools on hand to assist those that fancy the Red Dragons to challenge for a top-six finish in 2025-26 and a potential push towards the top tier.

That is where their A-list chairmen intend to be, and they have proved adept at turning dreams into reality.

Reynolds and McElhenney have never shied away from the fact that they are taking aim at the Promised Land.

Sporting cliches such as “one game at a time” will still be rolled out at the Racecourse Ground, but long-term plans are not being restricted to secretive dressing room discussions.

Reynolds has said of one day welcoming the likes of Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain to Wrexham: “Can you imagine! Could you imagine that feeling!”

He went on to say: “I remember Rob early on was like ‘of course we want to go to the Premier League’. It eventually got into my cells and I was like ‘hell yeah we want that’. Why wouldn’t we want that? Who wouldn’t want that?”

Phil Parkinson has already welcomed international performers into his ranks.

James McClean has over 100 caps for the Republic of Ireland on his CV, while Jay Rodriguez represented England back in 2013.

There has been talk of more former Three Lions stars making their way to Wales.

As Wrexham continue to climb the EFL ladder, the greater their appeal becomes to the biggest of names.

If they were to reach the Premier League, then an altogether different recruitment market would be entered.

Rather than looking for useful domestic experience, all of a sudden continental pedigree will be sought.

Superstar

At some point, a bonafide superstar could make his way to the Stadium.

Few eyebrows would be raised at that business, with Wrexham making a habit of ripping up the rulebook and upsetting the establishment.

Additions of that calibre will be required in order to take the Red Dragons to the next level.

Various boxes have already been ticked off, from stars with Football League honours to a manager with a track record of delivering promotion.

With international performers now becoming commonplace, a Champions League winner may begin to register on the radar at some point in the not too distant future.
