Work is completed on Tutshill development
Construction work has finished and all homes handed over to their new residents at a development near Chepstow.
Bellway has delivered 91 new homes at Manor Chase, off Gloucester Road, Tutshill, with 55 of the homes having been privately sold and 36 allocated as affordable housing for local people through rent or shared ownership.
Daniel Shone, Sales Manager for Bellway Wales, said: “It has been very satisfying to create a much-needed development in this superb location. With all the homes completed and all the residents now moved in, we have seen a new community take shape.
“As part of the planning agreement for Manor Chase, we have invested a sizeable sum in the local area to help improve local services and infrastructure.
“We have also delivered a significant number of affordable homes which will help provide housing for local people and key workers who might otherwise not have been able to find homes to buy in the locality.”
As part of the planning agreement related to the development, Bellway is investing more than £160,000 in existing infrastructure and local facilities, including contributions for education, highways, libraries and air quality.
Daniel said: “The three, four and five-bedroom homes we built at Manor Chase proved very popular with a range of buyers, not least of which were growing families.
“Many people’s wish-list when choosing a new home changed during lockdown with extra room, open spaces on the doorstep and easy access to the great outdoors coming to the fore.
“This development ticked many boxes for families as it provides a semi-rural location with a children’s play area, open space, an orchard and a number of schools nearby, while the proximity of the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean enables people to get back to nature quickly and easily.
“We have now finished work at Manor Chase but are building new homes in Undy and Llanwern. I would urge anyone who missed out at Manor Chase to have a look at what is happening at these popular developments.”
Bellway is continuing to build new homes at Greystone Meadows in Undy, which has a village setting near the M4, and Heron’s Mead in Llanwern, which is only four miles from Newport.
