Oliver Lewis, CEO of OLSO Marketing in Bridgend is looking forward to a successful 2022 after thriving during what has been a very challenging period for many Welsh businesses.

The award-winning marketeer launched his business in early 2019, before the pandemic hit and was initially concerned about how his business would manage through the challenges of successive lockdowns but says that supporting clients has been the ‘secret’ behind his business success story.

Initially, the business thrived though ‘traditional’ marketing, with logo creation, design, and low cost printing for brochures and business cards, as well as Adwords management for more established businesses, but the pandemic required a different approach, with building companies no longer able to rely on canvassing or door-to-door leafleting and no longer having big Adwords budgets. Oliver has helped businesses overcome this with a strong focus on digital marketing.

Oliver explains:

“I was naturally worried, we were hit by the pandemic just as we were starting to grow – however many of the clients who wanted to work with us were in the same position.  From small local tradesmen to professional construction businesses, we all faced unprecedented challenges, so I decided to work collaboratively with clients, helping them find creative ways to attract new business while saving money – as I saw it, we’d get through the tough times together.”

”After working with tradesmen through the pandemic, I know the market well, so I’ve recently launched a low cost web design service for construction and tradesmen.  Construction professionals appreciate the value of reaching new audiences online but don’t have the time or financial budgets to spend hours creating content for a website, so my new service is straightforward and overcomes these challenges, getting them online quickly with a low-cost, one-off investment.”

“I’ve also simplified things like logo design and low-cost printing, keeping costs down and improving service for smaller businesses.

It’s a strategy that’s paid dividends, with the agency being featured in the ThreeBestRated marketing agencies list for two years running, as well as being named in the top 10 for two categories in Digital Marketing Agency Reviews for SEO services and Digital Agency.

The agency has also been shortlisted for ‘New On The Scene’ at the Business Growth Awards 2022 which will be held at the Vale Hotel in March and Oliver’s book, which offers advice for businesses to rank on Google, has been awarded 5 stars on Amazon.

Meanwhile, Oliver’s private life has also gone from strength to strength, welcoming his baby daughter in 2021.

Oliver says:

“2021 was a great year for me personally and professionally and working collaboratively is definitely the secret to my success.

“As I see it, the business connections we have created to support each other through the pandemic are what will help us succeed as the COVID situation hopefully improves – no matter what, we’ll be facing each challenge head on, finding solutions not problems – I am looking forward to 2022 with hope.”
