Carving their way into the hearts of Rhug’s customers will be new tenants on the estate – Calon Kitchens

Rhug is delighted to welcome new tenants on to the Estate. Calon Kitchens has opened a new workshop in the Old Forge Building where they will build their bespoke handmade kitchens & furniture.

Calon Kitchens is Tony Jones’ family business with over 30 years of experience. The team of local craftsmen build individually designed furniture, made to measure and handcrafted to the highest standards. They offer unbeatable craftsmanship, quality and style, together with a truly personal service which ensures that no detail is overlooked. The team create luxury kitchens and furniture that are unique.

Tony Jones said, “Rhug Estate is the perfect location for Calon Kitchens as the Old Forge lends itself well to being a workshop for our team of local craftsmen to work in. It also provides us with a shop window. Visitors to Rhug will be able to see our team building bespoke kitchens and watch the detail that goes into every piece of furniture we produce.”

Calon Kitchens was split between Cerrigydrudion and Llangollen but Tony Jones has now moved all elements of his business to Corwen. He does his machining on Corwen’s industrial estate and has his workshop at Rhug which includes a showroom. Visit the website to learn more about Calon Kitchens:

Emma Story, Estate Manager said, “Lockdowns forced our estates team out of occupied properties and on to one of our longer-term projects which is to develop the commercial units we have available to let. The first unit to get some attention was the Old Forge situated at the far end of our farm shop car park. We’ve taken our time to find the right tenant, letting the space out to pop-up shops in the interim and we’re very pleased to welcome Calon Kitchens here as our new tenant.

“Tony and his team’s workmanship is well worth a trip to Rhug to appreciate and we love that you can ask to watch your kitchen and furniture items being made in the workshop. We’d like to encourage more of this type of offering at Rhug, where local businesses showcase their produce and customers can come and view the whole process.’

The Old Forge building is situated at the far end of Rhug Estate’s car park, near the entrance to the Drive Thru, and has been re-roofed and refreshed during lockdown to create a perfect space. The estate is always keen to hear from local businesses looking for rental space. If you have an interest, please email: or telephone: 01490 413 000.
