Food parcels for children eligible for free school meals to restart

Bridgend County Borough Council will once again be providing food parcels for children eligible for free school meals over the half-term holiday.

This week all pupils eligible for free school meals will receive a food parcel with parcels being delivered to home addresses.

Then, from the week commencing November 2, only those free school meals pupils in Years 9-13 will receive a food parcel, as pupils in Year 7 and Year 8 along with pupils who attend infant, junior, primary and special schools will be back in school.

Anyone who has previously opted out of the provision will not receive a food parcel.

The weekly food parcel contains food items to provide both breakfast and lunch for a child for five days.

The half-term holiday parcels include a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, pasta, sauces and tinned food.
