Local Welsh Labour MS and MP for Ogmore, Huw Irranca-Davies and Chris Elmore, are calling on small and medium sized businesses across Ogmore and Maesteg to get in touch again in the run up to this year’s ‘Small Business Saturday’ on 3rd December.
Huw and Chris have been supporting this campaign for a number of years, and in the run-up to this year’s Small Business Saturday would like local small businesses to get in touch and tell them what products and services they have on offer. They will then promote a different small business via their social media feeds every day, and it doesn’t matter if they’re online or on the high street.
Business owners are also being asked to submit a photograph of their local enterprise if they would like to be featured on social media – and they are very welcome to star in the photograph as well!
Huw Irranca-Davies MS said: “Our local high streets and small businesses have been hit hard throughout the pandemic and the current unprecedented cost of living crisis is causing added pressure. It is essential that we do all we can to support them. If you are a small business owner in the Ogmore constituency, please get in touch so Chris and I can help promote your business via a strong social media campaign”
Chris Elmore MP said: “We have such a wide variety of small independent businesses across our constituency and Small Business Saturday serves as a brilliant way for these businesses to reach a new audience.
Small businesses truly are the life blood of the Ogmore constituency, and I recognise that many are struggling in the wake of soaring energy costs, sky high inflation and the cost-of-living crisis more generally. The message is clear, we need to support our small business now more than ever.”
In previous years, small businesses from across Ogmore have received prestigious awards, from being invited to a reception at 10 Downing Street to winning Bridgend Business Forum’s ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ awards, amongst others.
